Within a game of bingo, the numbers will be selected through a variety of methods. The ways in which numbers are selected are either through an electronic Random Number Generator, by picking counters from a bag, or through the use of balls within a mechanical draw machine.
The numbers will then be named by the caller and there has been a variety of nicknames given to the particular numbers.
The different combinations of winning numbers are as follows:
Line: A horizontal line of five numbers
Two Lines: Any two lines covered
Full House: All 15 numbers are covered
- Under the rules in New Zealand within the bonus games, it is usual that three lines will be claimed. More often this will be the top, middle and bottom – the prizes for this are much greater than usual bingo games. These are usually also played at various periods throughout the game.
- Within the United Kingdom, one line games will usually be followed by two line games and a game of full house. However, the one line game will sometimes be followed by the full house game. In the National Bingo Game, the only type of game played is the full house game. The most that was ever won by an individual in the national bingo game was £950,000. Within each of the games, the last of the numbers called must be within the sequence that wins. If a player does not stop the game within a sufficient time period and the caller calls out the next number, the winning claim will not be valid.
