Fan-Tan is a gambling game similar to roulette that has been played in China for over one hundred years. The game was at its peak during the late 19th century when San Francisco’s large Chinatown housed numerous Fan-Tan establishments. While no longer as popular, due to the emergence of more modern casino games such as Pai Gow and Mah Jong, Fan-Tan can still be found at a number of casinos in Macau.

The game begins after a square is marked, or a piece of metal, is placed in the middle of an ordinary table. Each side of the square or metal is then marked with the numbers 1 to 4. The banker then places a range of small buttons, dried beans, coins etc. on the table and covers with them with a ‘tan koi’ or metal bow. Players then take turns to bet on the numbers. Bets on corners such as between number 3 and number 4 are permitted.

The croupier then removes the items from the heap in multiples of four after the bowl has been removed. The players who win are those who correctly guess the amount of items remaining in the last batch. For example, if only two buttons remain, the backer of number 2 will win. Winning bets must pay a 5% commission meaning a $50 bet on a 3 to 1 wager will result in a $135 windfall.

Take a trip of discovery around the internet and all the great names of snooker can be found playing at some national or international tournament all around the world. Anyone who wishes can place a bet on the likelihood of one of their heroes winning a coming tournament.

Increasingly, people are using online gambling sites in order to take part in snooker betting. The betting exchanges allow gamblers to either bet on a player to win, which is called ‘backing’ a player, or bet that a competitor is going to lose, which is known as ‘laying’ a bet. Go to any of the numerous internet gambling sites and the two sets of odds are listed.

The majority of the internet gambling sites earn their money by placing a small commission on winning bets. But it’s a good idea to carry out some research to compare the commission rates of the different gambling exchanges.

Most people bet on the outcome of a tournament but there is an array of choices. Some people just gamble on the final outcome of a tournament such as the ‘Masters,’ while others prefer to follow a specific snooker player throughout a tournament, betting by how many frames they will win or how many times they are able to command a maximum break of 147 balls throughout a tournament.

Casinos often feature a distinctive wooden wheel that has alternating coloured pockets that are numbered, and run in a circle around the side of the wheel. This wheel is part of a game called Roulette.

There are two versions of Roulette – the American and European version. The main difference between the two versions is that the American wheel has 37 numbers, while the European wheel has 38 numbers. However, no matter which version is played, the rules of play are the same.

In a game of Roulette, each player is given different coloured chips for easy sorting. Players may choose the value of their chips, which indicates the value of their bets, or they can use regular casino chips to place their bets. Players can place their bets on a variety of scenarios, including single numbers, a combination numbers, on the colours red or black.

The game begins when the croupier spins the wheel in one direction, and launches a small ball in the other, which will eventually fall into one of the side pockets. The number of the pocket into which the ball falls, is the winning number for that game.

The city of Las Vegas, Nevada, bills itself as ‘The Entertainment Capital of the World’. This city has a desert climate and is surrounded by the Spring Mountains, along with other rocky and dusty mountain peaks which dot the horizon behind the glittering lights of this gambling metropolis. The arid basin beneath these mountains boasts some of the most impressive and impressionistic buildings in the whole of the United States, and indeed, the world.

Having two major areas dedicated to tourism and gambling, downtown Freemont Street and The Strip, the city of Las Vegas has so many options for today’s gamblers to stay and play. Some hotels and casinos reach high in the sky, nearly touching the heavens, while others depict different cities found across the globe, and yet others are designed to depict ancient wonders of the world.

World-class dining, along with some of the world’s most successful actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and stage productions help to accentuate the city’s marvels, and to keep every gambler satisfied both on and off their preferred table game.

Regardless of their external designs, colours, shapes, and size, inside each and every one of these hotel and casinos a unique and individual gambler’s paradise is found. It is a fairly safe bet that, whatever your interest or desire may be in world travel or gambling, you can find a microcosm of that interest in the landscapes of this universal city.

Texas hold ‘em is currently the most popular form of poker in the world today. It is played in tournaments, casinos and through online casinos or poker houses. The game is a version of ‘community card poker’ and around ten players are able to play on a single table.

Play begins with the dealer dealing each of the player’s two cards, which must remain face down until the first round of betting is complete. The player to the left of the dealer is the small blind with the player left of them the big blind. A round of blind betting, called the pre-flop ensues, with raises allowed. After this is complete, cards can be viewed and another betting round commences. The dealer then lays three cards face up in the community area in the middle of the table. This is known as the flop. Another round of betting continues. The final two rounds are referred to as the turn, where the fourth card of five is placed face up in the community area, and the river, where the fifth and final one is placed. Rounds of betting are allowed in between these.

It is in the potential hands available at each of the stages of the community cards being revealed that much of the strategy lies, especially in an online casino. For instance, a pair of aces at the pre-flop stage may appear to be a great hand, but may not pay off in the final reckoning depending on the community cards.

An ever-growing game of popularity in casinos, the Americanised game of Pai Gow Poker has been around since the early 1980s and can be found worldwide with some variations. It originated from the Chinese game Pai Gow. This original and common game is also played all around the world including Macau, Las Vegas, Atlantic City, California, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The card game version has become very popular today. Played against the banker, or house, this game is intimidating to many ordinary people, however is extremely simple to learn in terms of rules and concepts. With seven cards dealt out, you simply make two separate poker hands from the seven cards. One hand has just two cards, and the other has five. A traditional five-card draw hand strength table is used. The only rule is that the two-card hand cannot be stronger than the five-card hand. Yes, it is that simple.

To win, you must have both hands beat both of the dealer’s hands and vice versa to lose. As is common in this game, therefore, you will tie or ‘push’ if you win one hand and lose the other. In order for the house to gain back its edge in this game, the payouts are structured so that when you win, you do not win even money. Added in to many versions of this game is the fortune-bonus bet that will pay out very highly if you make a very strong hand, regardless of whether it beats the banker or not.

Bingo is a simple and popular game of chance. The game is played with a Bingo card, which is divided into 25 squares, with the centre square being the “free” square.

Bingo is a game of pure chance. Thus, there is no strategy involved at all. Mental alertness and speed are important, as fatigue may kick in after long rounds of Bingo.

Prior to the start to the game, players buy their Bingo cards. The game commences when a caller starts to draw Bingo balls from blowers, which have a random number assigned to them. Players then use a chip or special marker on their card, to cross out the numbers that have been called out. The point of the game is for players to look out for patterns on their Bingo cards. These patterns are usually straight lines – either diagonal lines across, or straight lines across.
Another common pattern to look out for in a Bingo game is the coverall pattern, meaning all four corners of the Bingo card being covered.

Once a player spots such a number pattern, they shout “Bingo!” The player then wins.

The first thing you need to do in managing your bankroll is decide what kind of poker player you are. Are you a professional, an aspiring professional, or a casual player who will not be playing in high stakes games? Once you have made this decision you can decide on the best method of managing your bankroll.

Money for Poker

No matter what type of player you have decided you are, you should set aside money that is used specifically for playing poker. To decide how much money you can afford for playing poker, you should look at your incomings and outgoings, and then look at what you have left and how much of that you would like to spend on poker. By doing this you will be sure that you can play without worrying about losing more money than you can afford.

Winnings

When you win you can either put your winnings back into your bankroll, or take it out and use it for other things.

Free Bets

Use online casinos that offer a certain number of free bets or free bets to a certain value when you first sign up. This way you’ll save money.
